Government Funded Health Care On a National Scale isn't Possible Options

As much as we need some sort of health care program, I don't believe it's possible for our government to sponsor a program (similar to Medicare). The reasons being:

#1. There are far to many in need.

#2. Working American's couldn't afford the taxes needed to fund a national program.

#3. The American taxpayer is already burdened with trillions of dollars of debt due to war and our governments frivolous spending practices.

#4. Our government has proven time and again, it isn't fiscally responsible (think Pork). There would be too many officials eager to stick their hands in the till to fund non-related, special interest programs. A good example is what's already occurred with Social Security. Since it's been moved to the general fund, it's been used for non-related purposes including balancing the national budget.

I'm not sure what the solution is, but it's my personal opinion a government funded health care system isn't even remotely possible.
